National History Conference Explores Delhi’s Indo-Islamic Synthesis

The Institute of Study and Research, Delhi (ISRD), in collaboration with Jamia Hamdard University, hosted a distinguished one-day national conference titled “Delhi: Crucible of Indo-Islamic Synthesis in Medieval India” at the Hamdard Convention Centre, New Delhi, on April 20, 2025. Eminent historians, scholars, and community leaders gathered to illuminate Delhi’s legacy as a centre of Indo-Islamic culture, scholarship, and pluralism.

Keynote speakers included Mr. Syed Sadatullah Hussaini (President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind) and Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam (Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard), who emphasized interdisciplinary approaches to historical research and the need for preserving India’s diverse heritage. Academic sessions delved into themes ranging from architecture and literature to the social fabric shaped by centuries of syncretic traditions.
