‘Idea of India’ Symposium Champions Constitutional Values Amidst New Challenges
New Delhi: ISRD convened a vital symposium, “The Idea of India and the Current Scenario,” at the Media Hall, Markaz Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, in September 2025. The event brought together intellectuals, scholars, and activists to engage with contemporary challenges to India’s constitutional values, emphasizing the importance of pluralism and democratic freedoms.
Dr. S.Q.R. Ilyas (Spokesperson, AIMPLB) delivered the keynote, addressing India’s heritage as a civilizational entity and the responsibilities citizens hold in safeguarding foundational rights. Lively panel discussions explored threats facing minority rights, the role of academia in navigating misinformation, and constructive strategies to uphold national unity. Attendees left with a sense of urgency to foster inclusive public discourse and reaffirm their commitment to defending the spirit of India’s Constitution during times of rapid transformation.
